Fire Inside (Chaos,#2) by Kristen Ashley.

Lanie Heron isn’t looking for love—no surprise, considering her last serious relationship nearly got her killed. So when Lanie propositions Hop Kincaid, all she wants is one wild night with the hot-as-hell biker who patrols with the Chaos Motorcycle Club...

For Hop, Lanie has always been untouchable. She’s too polished and too classy for his tastes. But when she gives Hop the once-over with her bedroom eyes and offers him a night in paradise, he can’t say no. And he doesn’t regret it when he finds that Lanie is the best thing that’s ever happened to him—in or out of bed. Now the trick will be to convince her of that.

*I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.*

First of all I would like to thank Forever (Central Grand Publishing) for giving me the oppertunity to read and this book. Kristen Ashley is one of my favourite Authors so i'm always going to jump at the chance of reading her books.

Ok, so this was the second in the Chaos series and I have to be totally honest I LOVED it. Even more so, than Tabby and Shy's story and I thoroughly enjoyed that too. I literally could not put this book down. I can relate to other reviews in the sense that the sex scenes were not as detailed in depth as you typically find in a KA book. However, I found my self so attatced to Hop and Lanie's story, that it in no way made this book anything less than amazing.

Aaahhhh! Hop... I think I have just found my new favourite 'biker book boyfriend' (BBBF). This guy was so gorgeous. For me, he was the perfect mix of that passionate, intense alpha male I love and yet beautifully sweet and tender with Lanie. I loved the interactions with his children and with his brothers. All in all he was just a great guy. Its safe to say I was in love with him at about 5% in.

I also totes adored his leading lady Lanie. She had so much sass, style and class it was very easy to see why Hopper wanted her like he'd never wanted another lady before. Her inner monologue had me laughing out loud pretty much throughout the whole book. She was totally relatable to female readers. I warmed to her instantly and was desperate for her to get her much deserved HEA.

Their love affair was intense and passionate and it was clear from the first time they hooked up that this could never be a one time thing. They each craved the other like a drug. Of course the path to true love never runs smoothly and theirs was not without drama. This only added excitement because every time they had a blazing row... They got to make up ;)

It was difficult road but i was so happy that they got there in the end. That epilogue was amazing. I never wanted it to finish!!

Buy this book, love this book and love KA. She is such an amazing author and i wait with baited breath for her next release.

Here are some of my favourite quotes:

“Lady, we’re not sleeping, we’re resting then we’re fucking some more. Last time I’ll say it. Not done with you, got things I want to do to you and I’m doin’ them.”

“You’re beautiful, fuck me, seriously, so goddamned beautiful sometimes, sweat to God, I think I can’t look at you any longer because if I do, your beauty will burn out my eyes.”
“Fuckme, babe, seriously? You knocked yourself out to make me wild. Why, Lanie? Why the fuck would you pull out all the fuckin' stops to make a man already drunk on you drunker?”
“I don't use you as a sheild. I am the goddamn sheild.”
“Please be real.”
His hand in my hair stilled, curled around my head and Hop whispered back, “Lady, I’m as real as it gets.”
I rate this book 5*

True by Erin McCarthy

When Rory Macintosh’s roommates find out that their studious and shy friend has never been with a guy, they decide that, as an act of kindness they’ll help her lose her virginity by hiring confident, tattooed bad boy Tyler Mann to do the job…unbeknownst to Rory.

Tyler knows he’s not good enough for Rory. She’s smart, doctor smart, while he’s barely scraping by at his EMT program, hoping to pull his younger brothers out of the hell their druggy mother has left them in. But he can’t resist taking up her roommates on an opportunity to get to know her better. There’s something about her honesty that keeps him coming back when he knows he shouldn’t…

Torn between common sense and desire, the two find themselves caught up in a passionate relationship. But when Tyler’s broken family threatens to destroy his future, and hers, Rory will need to decide whether to cut her ties to his risky world or follow her heart, no matter what the cost…

I recieved a copy of this book from PENGUIN GROUP Berkley, NAL / Signet Romance, DAW, in return for an honest review.

First of all, I would like to thank the publisher for giving myself and my blog the oppertunity to read and review this book.

I'm a total sucker for this type of story. I loved Rory and I loved Tyler too. The socially awkward girl and the confident hot guy. Everything about this book promised to be a great read. And, in many way's it was. I read this in one sitting and couldn't wait to see where these two character's ended up. At the same time, i didn't feel like it quite added up to other book's that have been released and are highly popular in this genre.

Everything about Rory and Tyler intrigued me. I loved her ability to pretty much always speak her mind. Tyler, seemed to like that too. And, even though she was the kind of girl who didn't mix well in social situations, she seemed completely at ease withTyler. She captured him, and even though Rory was beautiful, he saw the person inside. To him, she was even more amazing.

At times, it felt rushed. Even though Rory and Tyler were very clearly in love, it felt like the chemistry between these two characters could have been portrayed better. One thing I thought was written very well was the way it described Tyler's homelife. Drug abuse is a very serious and sometimes, taboo subject. Tyler and his siblings went through hell at the hands of their mother's addiction's. The author covered this exceptionally well. At points it was very upsetting. I'm glad it's a subject she chose not to shy away from.

Overall, I did enjoy this story. But, at certain point's it did feel like something was missing. A good book to pass an afternoon with. It didn't thrill me and it didn't disappoint, either.

I rate this story 3*

The Edge of Never (The Edge of never,#1) by J.A. Redmerski

Sometimes life takes you off course . . .

THE EDGE OF NEVER

Twenty-year-old Camryn Bennett thought she knew exactly where her life was going. But after a wild night at the hottest club in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, she shocks everyone-including herself-when she decides to leave the only life she's ever known and set out on her own. Grabbing her purse and her cell phone, Camryn boards a Greyhound bus ready to find herself. Instead, she finds Andrew Parrish.

Sexy and exciting, Andrew lives life like there is no tomorrow. He persuades Camryn to do things she never thought she would and shows her how to give in to her deepest, most forbidden desires. Soon he becomes the center of her daring new life, pulling love and lust and emotion out of her in ways she never imagined possible. But there is more to Andrew than Camryn realizes. Will his secret push them inseparably together-or destroy them forever?

I recieved a copy of this book from HarperCollins UK, HarperFiction/Blue Door. In return, for an honest review.

First of all, I would like to thank Harper Collins, for allowing me to oppertunity to read an review this book.

Ok, where to start? Maybe I should begin by saying that this book is fantastic. It absolutely exceeded my expectations. Once I started, I didn't stop until I had finished it.

I admit, that for about the first 15% of the book, I found it very hard to warm to Camryn's character. I found her to be way too serious, cold and really negative about everything. Once it became apparant of everything she had been through in the past few years, I felt nothing but admiration for her. She had hit a pretty low point in her life, so one day she just take's off. Not a word to anyone and no clear idea of where she's heading. This is all about a journey of self discovery for this young woman. Trying to reach something greater than what life had already thrown at her.

Very early on into her trip, whilst on a bus she meet's the very intriguing and very HOT Andrew Parrish. While I had early reservation's about Cam I instantly liked Andrew. He was charming, confident and everything you want from a male lead. It became apparant though, that even though he had such inviting qualities, he was just as lost in life as Camryn. Each to the other was like a moth to the flame. Both, drawn in and curious to find out more.

Separately these character's interested me, but together they were magic. As the road trip went on, I loved seeing Camryn change from uptight to carefree. She showed Andrew that it's ok to feel things even if they aren't necessarily good feelings. He encouraged her to always speak what was on her mind, to do things that she never normally would and just to embrace life. It's like he was the ying to her yang, they fitted each other perfectly.

The attraction was pretty intense for both of them. When they eventually got together, it was electric. I alway's think it can make or break a book like this if the sex is built up and then disappoints when it happens. That was not the case with this book, the sex scenes were written extemely well.

Andrew's secret was kept really well. Even when the story was told first person from his POV, he never dwelled on it too long. This meant, that when his secret was exposed it came as a shock. Get the tissues ready... It was intense.

Overall, this was a brilliant book, I cannot wait to start the second book in the series, aptly named, The Edge of Always.

A few of my favourite quotes:

“I don’t think you ever really fall out of love with someone. I think when you fall in love, like true love, it’s love for life. All the rest is just experience and delusions.”

“A woman who knows what she wants sexually, and isn’t afraid to express it is so fucking hot, Camryn- Tell. Me. What. You. Want. Or, I won’t give it to you.”

“I could die in this bed with him right now, wrapped in his arms and I would never know that I had died.”

“I want you, goddammit! … The thought of you leaving at never seeing you again tears-me-up-inside! … I can’t fucking breathe without you!”

If you haven't already, I urge you to read this book.

I happily rate this story 5*

Claim Me (Stark Trilogy,#2) by J. Kenner

**ARC courtesy of Random House Publishing Group via NetGalley**

For Damien, our obsession is a game. For me, it is fiercely, blindingly, real.

Damien Stark’s need is palpable—his need for pleasure, his need for control, his need for me. Beautiful and brilliant yet tortured at his core, he is in every way my match.

I have agreed to be his alone, and now I want him to be fully mine. I want us to possess each other beyond the sweetest edge of our ecstasy, into the deepest desires of our souls. To let the fire that burns between us consume us both.

But there are dark places within Damien that not even our wildest passion can touch. I yearn to know his secrets, yearn for him to surrender to me as I have surrendered to him. But our troubled pasts will either bind us close . . . or shatter us completely.

I recieved an ARC of this book in return for an honest review. First of all, thank you to Random House publishing group for selecting me and my blog to read this book. I very much enjoyed the first book from the Stark Trilogy, 'Release Me' and was thrilled to get this oppertunity.

Claim Me was a highly erotic, sensual and passionate story once again focusing on Damien and Nikki. I must say, I enjoyed the mystery surrounding this book. Not only was the romance side of things written brilliantly. But, there was a real back bone to the story. It kept me on edge throughout the whole of the book.

Damien is such a fascinating character. He is a superb alpha male who revels in the control he has over Nikki. Yet, I never felt like he overstepped the mark. Sometimes in erotica books, the leading male can be so unreasonable with their extreme demands that you question would any woman actually submit to them. Damien, however has the balance just right. The author got the balance of his character perfect.

Nikki is a great leading lady. She never makes silly rash decisions and if she has something on her mind she comes out with it. She dosen't push Damien to confess his darkest secrets, only reassures him that when he does she will still be his. Given her past troubles with her mother and her issues with self harming still very much in the present. I can see why it is so simple for her to hand all control over to Damien. Not only does she feel its necessary but she gains a great deal of pleasure from it. The sex scenes are seriously SMOKING hot! This book does not disappoint at all.

There is so much happening around this couple throughout the story. The painting, the new job, Damien's many enemies and Nikki's mother to name but a few. I really loved though, that for the majority, all of these obstacles only made Damien and Nikki stronger. They seem to have an invivisible pull towards each other and it was heart warming to see how he constantly protected each other and how he always reminded her that she was alot stronger than she knew. Ahhhhh Damien! This guy is swoon worthy.

The Stark trilogy is turning out to be fantastic! I can't wait for the third and final part to Nikki and Damien's story. And, judging on the way Claim Me ended.. They won't be in for an easy ride.

If you enjoyed Fifty Shades, Crossfire and This man I would happily recommend this book to you.

I rate this book 4*

That Quote....

I know I covered this in my review. But, I cannot get this quote out of my head. It is the most touching thing I have ever read...

"I decided a long time ago I would feed on the vultures until a dove came along. A pigeon. The kind of soul that didn't impede on anyone; just walked around worrying about its own business, trying to get through life without pulling everyone else down. With its own needs and selfish habits. Brave. A communicator. Intelligent. Beautiful. Soft-spoken. A creature that mates for life. Unattainable until she has a reason to trust you.”

Travis Maddox, I Love You.

Music of the Heart (Runaway Train,#1) by Katie Ashley

For Abby Renard, the plan was supposed to be simple—join her brothers’ band on the last leg of their summer tour and decide if she’s finally ready for the limelight by becoming its fourth member. Of course, she never imagined stumbling onto the wrong tour bus at Rock Nation would accidentally land her in the bed of Jake Slater, the notorious womanizing lead singer of Runaway Train. When he mistakes her for one of his groupie’s, Abby quickly lets him know she sure as hell isn't in his bed on purpose.

Jake Slater never imagined the angel who fell into his bed would resist his charms by promptly kneeing him in the balls. Of course, the fact she seems like a prissy choir girl makes her anything but his type. So he is more than surprised when after betting Abby she wouldn’t last a week on their tour bus, she is more than willing to prove him wrong. But as Jake’s personal life begins to implode around him, he finds an unlikely ally in Abby. He’s never met a woman he can talk to, joke with, or most importantly make music with.

As the week starts comes to a close, neither Abby nor Jake is ready to let go. Can a sweetheart Country songstress and a bad boy of Rock N Roll actually have a
future together?

This was such a good, enjoyable book.
Abby was a confident character.. I loved how she refused to be intimidated by all the group when she stepped onto the bus. She bantered easily with them all and soon put each and everyone of them in their place, especially the irresistable and very cheeky Jake. I instantly liked her.

The chemistry between her and Jake was sizzling. As much as either didn't want to be, they were instantly drawn to each other. They certainly gave me the 'butterflies in the tummy' effect. I found that I was grinning alot whilst reading this book.

This story follows the very tried and tested method of good girl meet's bad boy. It's a story type that I love and never seem to tire of. Im pleased to say that this book delivers it well.

I'm eager to recommend it! And, have already to my friends.

I rate this 4*

Walking Disaster (Beautiful,#2) by Jamie McGuire

Finally, the highly anticipated follow-up to the New York Times bestseller Beautiful Disaster. Can you love someone too much?
Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder.

In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. But just when he thinks he is invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees.

Every story has two sides. In Beautiful Disaster, Abby had her say. Now it’s time to see the story through Travis’s eyes.

Golly gosh! I have just fallen in love with Travis Maddox all over again! Did I really expect anything else? Hell no I did not. The other potential's come and go. But, after reading this, it's pretty clear that Trav will always be my number 1 book boyfriend. I love, love, love him. I have dreamed for months about what it would be like to finally get in this man's head. And, this book exceeded all my expectations. It was SCHAMAZING!

That prologue though? I was sobbing from the prologue alone. It was so deeply moving and obviously set the tone for Trav's life and the way he lived it.

It was quite amazing seeing the story though Trav's eyes and just what he felt when he first saw Abby aka Pidge. I loved the scene in the cafeteria when he was mouthing to Shep and America 'who's that?' When he saw Abby for the second time. It made me giddy.

Obviously, there is no question that he screwed up on more than one occasion. But, lets be honest Abby did a hell of a lot too. I loved how he described the bubble that she lived in with the walls tight around her. Sometimes I felt exasperated with Abby at how blind she was too his very obvious feelings towards her. Call me blinded, but everytime they had a tiff I was always Team Trav.

At so many points throughout I found myself holding my breath. Jamie wrote it so well, that, even though I knew they would have the happy ending I was completely on edge. I started this book and pretty much didn't put it down till it was finished.

The epilogue was amazing. I loved the glimpse we got into their future. To know that they did indeed get their happy ever after. I'm so sad that this was the last book for Abbey and Trav. I could happily follow the rest of their lives and lap it all up.

I expected it to be nothing short of brilliant and that's exactly what this book was.

My favourite quotes:

“One of these days you're going to fall in love, son. Don't settle for just anyone. Choose the girl that doesn't come easy; the one you have to fight for, and then never stop fighting. Never”

“I decided a long time ago I would feed on the vultures until a dove came along.

“I took a deep breath, and shut the bedroom door behind me. Even though we'd put each other through hell, we'd found heaven. Maybe that was more than a couple of sinners deserved, but I wasn't going to complain.”

“First of all . . . I have standards. I’ve never been with an ugly woman.
Ever. Second of all, I wanted to sleep with you. I thought about throwing you over my couch fifty different ways, but I haven’t because I don’t see you that way anymore. It’s not that I’m not attracted to you, I just think you’re better than that.”

“When the sad went away, i would always play, and i would always fight. Hard.”

I know the ratings are out of 5. And, thats as far as I can go, I would give this book 6* though.

Wreck Me (Wrecked,#1) by J.L Mac

Life can be cruel. People can be ruthless and evil. The world can be cold and uninviting. No one knows these things better than Josephine Geroux. By her own definition, she is a twenty-five year old “nobody with nothing,” and she is content to stay that way. Growing up an orphan has made her tough and indifferent to the people around her until she meets a strangely familiar man with a face that haunts her for reasons she can’t understand.

Despite the pain that will inevitably ensue, she makes it her mission to discover what parts of her tragic puzzle she is missing. On her journey to discovering why the she feels an alarming connection to an absolute stranger, her greatest fear is reawakening the demons and darkness from the past that will surely overtake her if she lets her guard down.

Normally, I tend to avoid book's that are shorter in length than 200 pages. I always feel like they are really rushed and I hate that. However, after my friend (AKA my book twin) recommended this book to me and promised a hot steamy love affair... I had to read it. I'm so glad that I did. I really enjoyed it.

Jo had an horrendous childhood. She lost both parent's in a car crash very young. And, unfortunately spend the majority of the latter part of her childhood, homeless. If there was one thing she always found solace and calm in, it was reading. She spent most days in the public library and reading became not only her passion, but, her lifeline. It was ultimately her love of book's that leads her to her beloved job at the book store and to a much better and secure place in her life. This is where Jo is at, when the story begins.

Let me start by saying I love Jo. This girl has got some serious balls. After her very crap life, this woman is a total realist with a hard exterior who grabbed her life by the horns and made it something to be proud of. In short, she is a true survivor.

Step forward the very gorgeous and very successful Damon. They are instantly drawn and attracted to the other and both have a feeling of familiarity between each other. Although neither know's why they feel like the already they've already met. They waste no time in getting acquainted and start a very intense love affair almost immediately.

The sex scenes were seriously hot! Nothing about them disappointed. Damon was the perfect alpha male lover and Jo loved how he took total control during there love making. The scenes were very detailed and very well written.

It was endearing to see these two damaged souls come together and attempt to build a solid future with each other. The way Damon looked after her was heart warming. He wanted to give her the world and she thought he was too good to be true. Can I also say that the puppy scene when she was sick in bed actually melted my heart :)

I almost dreaded the twist, I knew was coming, happening. Everything was so perfect that I hated it was all about to change for them. Which brings me to the ending!!! That cliffhanger was sooo unfair, i'm already waiting in anticipation for book 2. Hurry up please J.L Mac.

This is an absolute little belter, give it a try!

Light in the Shadows (Find You in the Dark,#2) by A. Meredith Walters

How do you keep going when you feel like your life is over?

Maggie never thought she’d see Clay again. So, she attempts to put her life back together after her heart has been shattered to pieces. Moving on and moving forward, just as Clay wanted her to.

Clay never stopped thinking of Maggie. Even after ripping their lives apart and leaving her behind to get the help he so desperately needed. He is healing...slowly. But his heart still belongs to the girl who tried to save him.

When a sudden tragedy brings Maggie and Clay face to face again, nothing is the same. Yet some things never change. Can the darkness that threatened to consume them be transformed into something else and finally give them what they always wanted? And can two people who fought so hard to be together, finally find their happiness? Or will their demons and fear drive them apart for good?

The thing about love, is even when it destroys you, it has a way of mending what is broken. And in the shadows, you can still see the light.

It feel's like I waited forever for this story. I can't express how much I loved the first book of this series, Find You in the Dark. Maggie and Clay completely rocked my world. I have about a gazillion upcoming sequel's to be read and this is probably the one I anticipated the most.

The story starts with these two character's still apart and no longer together. Clay is trying hard to focus on his treatment at the Grayson Centre. And, Maggie is trying her hardest to get her life back together and carry on without Clay.

I loved the way that this book was written first person and in both Maggie and Clay's POV's. To feel, through Clay's own thoughts how he felt at his lowest point and to see how much of a daily battle he went through with his mental illness was truly heart wrenching. A huge well done to the Author, she handled this very sensitive issue so well and clearly did alot of research. It was so well written.

If I had one issue with this book, it would be that I felt the first half of the book was way too dragged on. I understand and get that she wanted to provide a thorough account of where both character's stood separately before she brought them back together. However, by the time they were reunited at 37% I was more than ready for it to happen.

The love that Maggie and Clay share is deep, intense and very true. There was no question in my mind that they shouldn't be together. I just wasn't sure how they would ever get there. Outside of the Grayson Centre, Clay's daily inner battle's seemed to get harder. I felt like I was waitng (in fear) for something devastating to happen. More than once, I had to take a chapter break. This book made me a nervous wreck.

What can i say? It was emotional, heart breaking, gut wrenching and one of the most inspiring, beautiful book's that I have ever read. It brought tears to my eyes many times throughout. But, the ending? Complete and total sob fest. Have the tissue's ready!

An amazing series by an amazing author.

I rate this 4.5*

My favourite quote from a book. EVER....

"In the dark, she became my light," I whispered, my voice breaking and my own tears started to make their way down my skin.
"Our road hasn't been an easy one. But good things rarely are. You taught me that the person I am is worth loving, worth fighting for. You gave me strength when I had none. You held me up when I wanted to fall. And now, I want to give you everything. I want to give you the world. Because, Maggie, you've given me mine. And it's you. It will always, forever, be you."

Broken at Love (Whitman University,#1) by Lyla Payne

When a knee injury ends twenty-year-old Quinn Rowland’s pro tennis career, he’s not only dumped by his hot Russian girlfriend but ordered to attend college by his disinterested billionaire father. A rich kid who’s not used to being disappointed by life, Quinn and his sociopathic half-brother Sebastian create a frat house game intended to treat girls how they see them—as simple game pieces to be manipulated for their pleasure.

College sophomore Emilie Swanson knows Quinn’s reputation—after all, he did send one of her sorority sisters into therapy earlier in the semester—but the game and his charm bring them closer together and soon she starts to believe there’s more to Quinn than people think.

But what if the more is something darker than a game of toying with emotions and breaking hearts?

Quinn and Emilie might be falling for each other, but there are secrets he’s not ready to tell—and lifestyle changes he’s reluctant to make. She willingly stepped on the court, but if Emilie finds out she started out as nothing as a pawn in Quinn and Sebastian’s twisted game, she might never forgive him.

To his surprise, Quinn finds that he might finally care about someone more than he cares about himself…even if that means letting Emilie walk away for good.

I have a bit of mixed feelings on this book. I cant say i didn't enjoy it because i did. But, I had a few issues with it.

Ok, so there is no denying that Quinn is very hot. It was easy to see the way all these girls constantly fell at his feet and for the rather cruel game that he was playing. My issue was that as soon as Emilie discovered that she was nothing more than a selection for a bet, she didn't want to walk away...

I just found it highly unbelievable that any girl would fall for any guy under these circumstances. She didn't strike me a silly naive girl and yet she acted like one. Believe me when I say that i'm a sucker for a reformed bad boy. And I love the drama these kind of stories produce. I just feel like there was too much of the bad and not enough of the good portrayed. From the very few glimpses of nice that we saw from Quinn, I found it hard to believe she would fall as hard as she did.

I wanted to love it, and there were part's of the story that I did. But... For me? It didn't add up!

I'm going to rate this 3*

Forever Black (Forever Black,#1) by Sandi Lynn

When Ellery moved to New York with her boyfriend, she thought they’d live happily ever after in their small New York apartment. She never thought he’d pack his bags and leave because he “needed space.” With her newfound single status and fear of being alone, Ellery buries herself in her artwork and paintings until one night she helps a mysterious intoxicated stranger get home safely. Little did she know the mysterious stranger is none other than CEO and millionaire Connor Black. After finding Ellery in his kitchen the next morning and assuming she broke his #1 rule about sleepovers, he becomes intrigued, not only by her stubbornness and defiance, but by her kindness.

Connor Black, emotionally dead and damaged, that stemmed from a personal tragedy, made a vow to never love or fall in love with a woman, until Ellery Lane walked into his life by accident. After she opens up and shows him her world, Connor starts to feel emotions and feelings he never knew existed. Despite the rumors and warnings regarding Connor Black and his use and misuse of women, Ellery finds herself being drawn into his world.

Ellery knows they can never be together because she is harboring a deep secret that could destroy Connor emotionally forever.

Join Connor and Ellery as they embark on a journey of courage, love and strength. Will it be enough to save them?

Ok, so after hearing a certain amount of buzz surrounding this book I decided to check it out. Having read the blurb I quickly drew to the conclusion that here we had a typical 'Billionaire CEO meets ordinary girl' type of story. Not that this is a bad thing, I really enjoyed Fifty shades and the Crossfire series etc. I just presumed that this would be another version of these stories. Well, I was very wrong. Nothing could have prepared me for the emotional journey this book took me on.

The story starts with the reader being introduced to Ellery. She isn't in the best of places. Her boyfriend has just left her and she's feeling a bit sorry for herself. Throwing herself into her art work, she attempts to carry on with her life. That is, until her best friend drags her out to a club one night and she meets Connor Black. Her life is about to change forever.

Nothing about there first meeting is typical. He is extremely drunk and completely unaware to Ellery's presence. In fact, he is so drunk that Ellery comes to his rescue and takes him home. After an exhausting struggle getting Connor home she ends up staying the night.

The following morning when Connor awakes, he is mad, assuming that he slept with Ellery and she stayed the night. He tells her in no uncertain terms that she had outstayed her welcome. Ellery fills him in on the previous evening events and he is surprised at her random act of kindness and also intrigued by this young woman. And so begins the start of their relationship...

I found it very refreshing that they did not leap into bed with each other and actually formed a friendship first.

Connor Black was seriously hot. He was also seriously uptight. He lived in his own bubble where he controlled everything in his life. Step forward, Ellery. This young lady had such a free spirit. It was easy to see why Mr uptight was so captivated by her. Connor tried, on many occasions to to tell Ellery what to do. I loved that she did as she pleased and not what she was told. She lived everyday as if it was her last.

They relationship these two formed was beautiful. He was like the ying to her Yang. Complete opposites that complimented each other. When they fell, they fell hard. Separately they were each intruiging characters. But together, they were magical.

As with all good stories there is a turning point to the book. Ellery was keeping a huge secret from Connor. One big enough to destroy not just their relationship but their entire lives. I had a gut feeling as to what it might be. And unfortunately I was right. The world comes crashing down around Ellery and Connor, and I went from happy to heartbroken in the space of a chapter.

Literally every human emotion made an appearance in me when I read this story. At times, I almost didn't want to carry on. Sandi's writing was beautiful and she handled such a sensitive issue very well.

Connor and Ellery's story really made me believe that with life you are never guaranteed a happy ending. But with true love you can face anything.

This is Sandi Lynn's debut novel, and what a cracker it is! After reading this book I am most certainly a fan. This story is part of a trilogy with the second book 'Forever you' being released soon. I can't wait to get my fresh fix of Mr Black, he has made quite an impression on me ;)

I'm happy to recommend this book. Its one of my favourite book's of the year so far.

My favourite quotes from the book....

“Because at some point you have to realize that some people can stay in your heart but not in your life and this is my way of keeping you in my heart.”

“There's no limit to what I wouldn't do for you. Just ask and it will be done, no matter the sacrifice.”

“Infinity is forever, and that is what you are to me, you are my forever Mr. Black.”

“Well, a lot of people believe in the happily ever after and the fairytale relationships, let's not take that away from them.”

I rate this book 4.5*

To Stand Beside Her by B. Kristin McMichael

To be the best courier in the world, eighteen-year-old Benét Leila follows three simple rules: always work alone, never stay in one place too long, and never fall in love. Too bad she didn't follow her own advice.

Leila is a courier. To the people she takes from, she is seen as a common thief; to the people she helps, she is a savior.

Nalick is your typical king. He's rich, powerful, and always assumed to be right. When Leila crosses paths with King Nalick, she finds herself trapped. In a rush to save her best friend Kay from a prison sentence for a crime Leila committed, Leila trades her hand in marriage in exchange for Kay’s freedom.

Tomboy Leila does not want to grow up, but in three months’ time, she will be married to King Nalick, if Nalick can keep his end of the bargain. First, Nalick must make Leila fall in love with him, a hard task since Leila is not ready to love again after losing her first love to a greedy king. Second, Nalick must keep her safe. He is not the only king trying to hold onto her. Leila has made many enemies over the years, and even more admirers that want her as a prize. Lastly, Nalick must convince Leila that ten years of love is better than a lifetime without. Unless Leila can trust her destiny, she might not reach her wedding day at all.

I recieved a copy of this book in return for an honest review. I have to say that upon reading the blurb I knew that this wasn't the type of book that I would normally read. However, it did interest me and I was happy to give it a try.

When I started the story I did find it slightly confusing. I felt that the author was a bit vague in certain parts and I had to draw my own conclusions as to what this story was actually about. That said, after I had covered a few chapters I started to get more into it and was eager to see which way Leila's path would lead her.

Given the circumstances surrounding Leila and Nalick's engagement, I didn't think that I would warm to his character at all. However he was quite endearing and I liked him from quite an early point. He was respectful to Leila and very much in awe of the legend she had become. He believed in his fate to be with her but it was clear that to him, she was so much more than the 'prize' all the other kings simply viewed her as.

Leila was highly likeable. She was a very strong and self assured young women. Yet, never did she come across as arrogant. It was easy to see grasp why King Nalick loved her deeply. What statred off as a means to an end for Leila did develop into something deeper as she began to fall for her king.

Whilst having early reservations about these characters early on. I immediately liked Anatolio and was pleased when it became clear that he would also play a
definitive role in this story. I also loved the introduction of the three orphan children. Seeing how both Leila and Nalick cared for and protected them was heart warming.

This book, in my opinion had the pefect mix of elements that make a good story... Love, lust, action, drama and angst.

My only qualm would be that I felt the ending was very rushed. When it was over I was left with an awful lot of unanswered questions. I am not aware that this book is part of a series so for me the ending was very disappointing.

As I said previously, this book isn't typical of my preferred genre. I am glad I got the chance to read it though because, i did enjoy it. It could definately benefit a second book so that we could see where Leila's story goes.

Thank you B. kristen McMichael for the oppertunity.

I rate this book 3.5*

Hopeless by Colleen Hoover

Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…

That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.

Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever.

I've just re-read Hopeless for the second time because it is so freaking amazing. It brought out every emotion I could ever feel. I was laughed, cried, screamed at the page, got the butterflies and even needed to take a couple of 'chapter break's' ;)

At the start of the story we meet Sky, possibly the funniest person in the whole wide world. This girl is amazing. When she meets Holder she is instantly attracted to him and very intruiged by him. The feeling is mutual, Holder immediately thinks she is somebody else and demands to know her name. He almost refuses to accept she is called Sky and that she isn't the girl he thought she was. He is extremely intense and this freaks Sky out.

Later that day when out for a run, Sky quite literally runs into Holder. Upon this encounter, gone is the scary guy from earlier. He is replaced by friendly, flirty and funny Holder. Sky knows she is screwed! She likes him. Alot.

Sky and Holder quicky form a bond and things are headed to the next level. The chemistry and banter between these characters is superb. It had me laughing out loud more times than I can remember.

All good book's need a twist or a turning point, this had both. What went from being a very light hearted fun read went to a heart breaking story of betrayal, lies and deceit. I loved how the twist connected the characters. It was genius. I think I bit all of my nails off, terrified of what would happen to Sky.

Colleen Hoover is such a talented writer. She touched two very sensitive subjects, and handled them extremely well. She drew every feeling i've ever felt, out of me whilst reading this.

Im super excited for the follow up book to this series, which will be told from Holder's POV. It will be aptly named "Losing Hope"

I rate Hopeless 5*

Captive in the Dark (The Dark Duet, #1) by C.J Roberts

Caleb is a man with a singular interest in revenge. Kidnapped as a young boy and sold into slavery by a power-hungry mobster, he has thought of nothing but vengeance. For twelve years he has immersed himself in the world of pleasure slaves searching for the one man he holds ultimately responsible. Finally, the architect of his suffering has emerged with a new identity, but not a new nature. If Caleb is to get close enough to strike, he must become the very thing he abhors and kidnap a beautiful girl to train her to be all that he once was.

Eighteen-year-old Olivia Ruiz has just woken up in a strange place. Blindfolded and bound, there is only a calm male voice to welcome her. His name is Caleb, though he demands to be called Master. Olivia is young, beautiful, naïve and willful to a fault. She has a dark sensuality that cannot be hidden or denied, though she tries to accomplish both. Although she is frightened by the strong, sadistic, and arrogant man who holds her prisoner, what keeps Olivia awake in the dark is her unwelcome attraction to him.

WARNING: This book contains very disturbing situations, dubious consent, strong language, and graphic violence.

If I had to pick one book that I know I will never forget as long as I live, this would be my without a doubt the book I would choose.

I will start by saying that this book will not be to everyone's tastes. It covers very serious issues including rape, abduction and extreme violence. It is without doubt the darkest story I have ever read. At many part's in this book I felt extremely uncomfortable reading it and yet it captivated me at the same time.

The story in written in two POV's. it switches from third person to first person by Olivia. The majority of the story is told from Olivia's POV. I have to say that for me, this format really did work. It would not have benefitted the reader to be inside caleb's mind, in my opinion.

The story starts with Caleb stalking Olivia having already decided that she is the chosen girl he is to kidnap and train. They meet, briefly. Olivia is instantly attracted to him. And they then go their separate ways... Or so she thinks.

First shock. When she is first taken and realises who has taken her prisoner... Caleb. Olivia instantly clung to him for protection when other members of his team were present. Caleb is extremely cruel with her and yet, she craves his company. In her eyes it's better than being alone. Caleb's intention is to train Olivia or as he calls her.. kitten to become a sex slave and then to gift her to his greatest enemy. Olivia is simply a pawn in a very dangerous game.

Everything about the blurb suggests this book cannot possibly work. But it does. This is by no means a love story. It is a story about trying to survive in some of the worst possible situations that life could ever throw at you. Any actions you choose at a time lead to consequences. It entered into a world I didn't even know existed. Hats off to the author who must have done a tremendous amount of research to write this story. It was so well detailed.

I always try to avoid giving the storyline away in my Review's. It's something I feel each reader should get to discover. Rather than waiting for a scene to play out. I will say it is full of suspense, drama and heartache. If you think it may be of interest to you, then I encourage you to take a chance. It is one of the best books i have ever read.

This story continues in Seduced in the Dark (The Dark Duet, #2)

Falling for the Ghost of You by Nicole Christie

Seventeen year old Violet Mercer returns home from her summer vacation in Hawaii to discover her boyfriend's cheating on her with a friend. As if that wasn't bad enough, her mother's marrying a man she just met.

Things take an awkward turn when Violet meets her rich new stepfather, and his gorgeous son--the hot guy whom she made a fool of herself in front of earlier that day! Zane O' Connor is sexy and charming, and way out of her league. He makes her forget her ex-boyfriend even existed. But there's no way she'd ever have a chance with him...right?

Through a strange turn of events, Violet finds herself living with Zane for a month. Somewhere between the fighting and flirting, they become friends. And it isn't long before that friendship blooms into something else...something more powerful than Violet anticipated.

But Zane is hiding something from her--something big enough to tear them apart if Violet ever discovered the truth about him. Her suspicions keep her from trusting him completely. She's been burned before--is she willing to take that risk again?

As she and Zane spend more time together, Violet realizes it's too late: she's fallen for the beautiful boy with the big secret. Will she get her heart broken twice in one year--or will her love survive the truth?

I really enjoyed this book. There were so many positives about this read that appealed to me.

At so many points it had me laughing out loud. Violet was absolutely hilarious. Her inner monolgue was brilliant. She's the type of girl you want to be best friends with.

Zane was totally hot and instantly drawn to Violet. She, of course was highly attracted to him the moment they met too. I loved the banter and the build up with these two. He tried to deny himself and she was having none of it.

The twist, I felt was really clever, I had loads of theories into what it would be that would threaten there relationship and was really shocked when I eventually discovered his big secret.

Here is the kind of book you need to read when you want to feel good. Everything about it made me smile :) book an afternoon to yourself, curl up on the sofa and delight in this story.

I happily rated this 4*

Book's I love to re-read

There are some book's you come across that will always stay with you. There are a certain few that I seem to re-read repeatedly.

My all time favourite repeaters include the This Man trilogy, The Crossfire series and The Sea Breeze series. That's just to name a few ;)

At the moment i'm re-reading Hopeless by Colleen Hoover. And boy what a book it is. I really love to re visit a story. Its surprising how many little things you forget. And how easy it still is to get lost in a book, even when you know what is coming.

So when your scouring Goodreads, Ibooks and Amazon for a new book and nothing jumps out at you. Re-read one of your favourites :)

I will post a review of hopeless as soon as i have finished. However i can already tell you it will have a 5* rating haha.

Fighting for Flight (Fighting #1) by Jamie Salsbury

What happens when in order to win, you’re forced to lose?

The only daughter of an infamous Las Vegas pimp, Raven Morretti grew up an outsider. Liberated from the neglectful home of her prostitute mother, she finds solace as a mechanic. With few friends, she’s content with the simple life. Flying under the radar is all she knows, and more than she expects.

Until she catches the eye of local celebrity, UFL playboy Jonah Slade.

Weeks away from his title fight, Jonah is determined to stay focused on everything he’s trained so hard to achieve. Undefeated in the octagon, he’s at the height of his career. But resisting Raven’s effortless allure and uncomplicated nature is a fight he can’t win.

Jonah trades in his bad-boy reputation and puts his heart on the line. But when her father contacts her, setting in motion the ugly truth of her destiny, Jonah must choose. In a high-stakes gamble where love and freedom hang in the balance, a war is waged where the price of losing is a fate worse than death.

Will the hotheaded Jonah be able to restrain his inner fighter to save the woman he loves?

Or will Raven be forced into a life she’s been desperate to avoid?

WOW! This is a brilliant book. I knew within the first chapter that this book was going to blow me away.. And it did.

Jonah and Raven are quite possibly the best book couple ever.

At first glance you would think that its the typical stuff. The boy is a player, boy meets girl, boy falls for girl, boy screws up, they make up and live happily ever after. I can tell you that there is nothing typical about this story.

Yes, they meet and fall very quickly in love but the trouble that this couple face TOGETHER is nail biting, heart wrenching stuff. I felt like my heart was in my mouth for the entire story.

Jonah is pretty much the perfect man. He loves and protects Raven's life as if it was his own. He puts his entire career in jeapordy at the snap of a finger to keep his girl safe. It also adds to the appeal that he a gorgeous hunky cage fighter ;)

Raven is so lovely, I dont think I have ever wanted a character to have a happy ending more than I did for this young woman.

Im all about constructive criticism, but im finding it hard to say anything negative about this book. It was just fantastic.

I cannot wait for the next book which will focus on Blake, I loved his character in this book.

Without a doubt, a 5* book for me.

Mr Jesse Ward? (This Man)

If theres one thing I love when im reading, its building up a picture of a character.

What does everyone think of my 'potential Jesse'?

Jade :) xx

Beneath This Man (This Man #2) by Jodi Ellen Malpas

She knew she was heading towards disaster. Every instinct told her to run, but Jesse Ward was a hard man to escape.

It has been five days’ since Ava O’Shea left Jesse drunk and raging at Lusso – left behind a man who drowned her in his intensity and blindsided her with his touch. Getting over this man was never going to be easy. And now he’s back in her life.

She has questions she needs answering, but her determination to get these answers will give the pleasure-seeking playboy the power to destroy her again. She needs to keep her eyes wide open and caution at the forefront of her mind, an ambitious intention when Jesse Ward is within touching distance. And he plans to be.

He’s dark, he’s broken – Ava knows this, but the only way to find out how dark and how broken is to get beneath the steely exterior of this man.

Catapult me to central Jesse cloud nine... The Lord is back!

Here we have the second offering from the 'This Man' trilogy. Does it get better? Yes it does!

The book begins five days after Ava walked out in Jesse. In true reflection of their relationship, the story picks up at full speed thrusting the reader back into this fantastic read.

Things I loved about this book...

Jesse. Can this man become any more alluring? Yes he can. He is such a complex character with so many sides to his personality it can be hard to keep up. Just when I was certain of how he would react to certain situations, he would do the unexpected and shock me. His behaviour often borderlines on CRAZY. But he is so madly in love with Ava, even I started responding to his his crazy reactions like it was perfectly normal.

In the first book, Ava managed to keep her wits about her whilst Jesse was flying off the handle at pretty much every situation thrown at him. It would appear in this story that Ava's sanity stayed in book one. Shes most certainly 'crazy in love' with The Lord this time around.

And hooray! We finally find out Jesse's age.

This is a passionate captivating story about a love so intense it could make or break you. I couldnt put it down.

I rated this book an easy 5*

Im now left waiting, rather impatiently for the last book from this trilogy This Man Confessed.

This Man (This Man #1) by Jodi Ellen Malpas

Young interior designer Ava O’Shea has an appointment for a first consultation at The Manor with the owner, Mr Jesse Ward. She is expecting nothing more than an overweight, cravat wearing, well-to-do countryman, and on arrival, nothing would suggest otherwise. How wrong could she be? This Man is devastatingly handsome, charming and confident. He is also a conceited, hedonistic playboy, who knows no boundaries. Ava desperately does not want to be attracted to him, but she can’t control the overwhelming affect he has on her. Every instinct is telling her to run, so she does, but Jesse Ward is not so willing to let her go. He wants her and is determined to have her. She knows she is heading for heartbreak, but how can she run when he won’t let her?

Ok, ladies. Let me introduce, to those of you that dont know, Mr Jesse Ward.

Every now and then, you will stumble across a book that quite literally sweeps you away. For me, This Man swept me away. I read books like they are going out of fashion. The This Man trilogy is in my top five.

Here we have the story of Jesse and Ava. Shes a 26 year old interior designer and he is the owner of a very luxurious hotel, The Manor. She gets requested to visit about the possibility of doing a renovation job at The Manor. It is there that these two meet for the first time. The immediate attraction thay these two people share is intense to say the least.

Jesse wants Ava, badly.

Ava wants Jesse too. But there are many reasons that persuade her she must stay away from this man.

Unfortunately for Ava, Jesse refuses to let her run from him and persues her until she breaks down and gives in to her desires.

And so begins a very passionate love affair.

There are so many amazing features about this book it would take me forever to list but heres a few...

Jodi's writing style is superb. This is the debut book from this author and she has set her own bar very high. The book is written 1st person from Ava's POV. The way she writes down every emotion and feeling that Ava has is inspiring.

Jesse Ward is quite possibly the most amazing man to ever grace the book world. He is arrogant, possessive, passionate and god damn beautfiul. He craves Ava like she is a drug to him.

The sex scenes are plentiful and very well detailed and written. But, there is also great substance to the story outside of the bedroom scenes.

I loved the mystery surrounding Jesse's age. He starts at 21 and ages a year everytime she asks him again.

Guys this is such a brilliant book and start to the trilogy. Dont delay in scooping this gem up.

Without a doubt, a 5* book. Hell i'd give it 6* if i could.

Twisted Perfection release date April 23rd

Ok guys, the third book of the Never too far series "Twisted Perfection" by Abbi Glines is scheduled for release on april 23rd. Excited much? Yesss!

This book moves its focus away from Rush and Blaire. And we get woods' story....

Life outside of her house was a new experience for Della Sloane. The dark secrets of her past weren’t something she ever intended to share with anyone. They would never understand. No one would ever get close enough to find out. Besides there was always a chance she’d go crazy sooner than they expected…

Woods Kerrington had never been one to be attracted to fragile females. They seemed like too much work. He wasn’t in it for the work just the pleasure. A night full of naughty fun had been exactly what was on his mind when he’d laid eyes on the hot little number that didn’t know how to pump gas and needed some help.

What he didn’t know was she was as fragile as they came.

The carefree girl who spoke her mind and didn’t care what the world thought of her was more breakable than he could ever imagine…

This cannot come quick enough!

Just for Now (Sea Breeze #4) by Abbi Glines

The day Preston Drake figured out that wealthy women paid well for a set of tight abs and a pretty face his life turned around.

The run down rat-infested trailer he had shared with his alcoholic mother and three younger siblings was now only a place he visited to pay the bills and stock the pantry with food.

He no longer worried about his family starving or living without electricity. The money he made entertaining rich older women more than covered his family’s needs and his own. He had it all figured out. Except…

There was this girl.

She was as innocent as he was tainted.

Amanda Hardy wished her knees didn’t get weak when Preston walked into a room. She hated the fact her heart raced when he flashed his smile in her direction. He had a different girl in his bed every night. He was the kind of boy a smart girl ran from. So, why was she coming up with ways to get close to him? Even when it was obvious he wanted to keep her at a distance.

Maybe her heart knew something the world didn’t. Maybe Preston Drake was more than just a pretty face.

Oh my days! I loved loved loved this book. Preston Drake is one of my favourite characters ever.

This is without a doubt my favourite Sea Breeze book. Following the trend in this series, of getting better each book. It just does!

Here we have the gorgeous Preston and the young naive Amanda. This young girl has literally been crushing on Preston her entire teenage years. To him, she was his best friend's kid sister for the majority of them. Until... Amanda grows up.

Suddenly she becomes his forbidden fruit. The one thing he wants but doubts he could ever have or be good enough for. Unfortunately for Preston, Amanda wants him too and does not make it easy for him to resist her.

When they do get together, it is electric! It it is also a shame that he is hiding a secret from Amanda that could destroy any chance of them having a future together.

The chemistry between these two characters is flipping brilliant. The sex scenes were just HOT ;)

Abbi is doing what she does best in this book. Writing lust and passion.

My advice? Read this book.

4.5*

While is lasts (Sea Breeze #3) by Abbi Glines

Maybe driving home after a few (or more) shots of tequila had been a bad idea, but hell, he did it all the time. The cops had to have been freaking bored to have pulled him over. He wasn’t even swerving! That’s Cage York’s story and he’s sticking to it.

Unfortunately, his baseball coach isn’t buying it. Cage has a free ride to the local junior college for baseball -- or he did, until he’d gotten a DUI. Now, Cage has to decide: does he drop out and give up his dream of getting noticed by a college in the SEC, and possibly making it into the Major Leagues -- or does he give in to his coach’s demands and spend his summer baling hay?

Eva Brooks planned out her life step by step when she was eight years old. Not once over the years had she lost sight of her goals. Josh Beasley, her next door neighbor, had been the center of those goals. He’d been her first boyfriend at seven, her first kiss at ten, her first date at fifteen, and her first tragedy at eighteen. The moment she’d received the phone call from Josh’s mother saying he’d been killed along with four other soldiers just north of Baghdad, Eva’s carefully planned life imploded in the worst way possible.

Cage isn’t real happy with his closet-sized bedroom in the back of a foul smelling barn, or his daily interactions with cows, but he knows that if he doesn’t make his coach happy then he can kiss his scholarship goodbye. Only a sick and twisted man would decide his punishment was to be working on a farm all summer. No hot babes in bikinis waiting to meet a Southern boy to make her vacation complete. Just him and the damned cows.

Oh -- and an uptight, snarky brunette with the biggest blue eyes he’s every seen. But she doesn’t count, because as hard as he’s tried to charm her out of her panties - he’s pretty sure she’d rather see him hung from the rafters than let him get a taste of her pretty little lips.

Here we have the third book in the Sea Breeze Series by Abbi. And boy did she deliver wth this story!!! It was like the first two books were warm up books in preparation for this.

We have the story focusing on Cage and Eva. Let me inform you... Cage is as hot as they come. And When Eva catches his eye sparks fly! The chemistry between these characters was on point. And the build up was amazing.

I loved the setting for the book and it was also different that for the majority of it Cage and Eva were not around the characters that have featured heavily in the previous books.

This is YA at its best. It delivered!

Give this book a read, be pleasantly surprised.

I rate this book an easy 4*
